(We knew it was coming)First of all, I'd like to start off the mod app with an apology. I acknowledge that I've been toxic as of late, and this apology is to those who I've been toxic/mean to. Second of all, I'd like to say I'm open to criticism so be really honest, I need it. :) Now uh.. here we go. --------------------------- Your in-game name: AngenovaPuppeh//BudgetMia How old you are: I'm 17 years old. Your gender: Female Have you been banned on any other servers?: No, not that I recall. I've been banned on mush once for x-ray. Why do you think you should be a moderator?: I think I should be moderator because I care a lot about the mush community, and would like to help it in the best way I can. I have also noticed as of late that around midday GMT, there aren't a lot of staff on. It's also hard to reach the staff from North America and Oceania since most are sleeping, etc etc. This is kinda a problem if for example.. a bot raid happened, or a default wants citizen. There are a lot of other scenarios, but those two are fairly ok to mention. I feel I am very open-minded and can move past the toxicity I have exhibited to help the server. How long can you be active on the server every day?: I can be active for a few hours per day, on PC and on Minechat. What country do you live in?: I live in Ireland. How long have you been on the server?: I've been on this server since late 2018, but I only became active on it in late 2019. Again, I cannot stress this ENOUGHHH. +1 I can tell Mia really cares about the server and the community and with the extra strain on the server as of late especially with the influx of arguments having another mod/trial-mod would be great. Also I don't think you've been toxic lately :-) we all have bad days and I think generally you're one of the nicer people on the server, don't be so hard on yourself!!! |

While I do believe you're sorry for that, it's just too soon since that for me to be able to +1 your application yet. You are kind and know the community well and care about it, I think you just gotta work on some stuff before you're considered for mod. +1 from me. From the moment I met Mia, she has been nothing but abysmally rude and condescending. Listen, I am a Wones n Co member and I think SHE is more toxic because she wants to argue about everything she possibly can. Let me cite the last incident for you: I join the server, and people are talking in ally chat. I was looking at a one sided conversation because it was with an ally we weren’t with, so I said “can you talk in faction chat?” because I was confused and it was spamming my chat box. Mia’s first reaction is to get defensive and rude about it. In the end, the person who owned that faction ended up coming online to dispute it and she left the faction. I may have made fun of her for leaving, but to be honest, she started giving me attitude over a simple request. Now, let’s go back FURTHER in time. My first interaction with Mia. I was in the ACNH Mush discord, and one of her friends was added who didn’t even own the game at the time. I said they should be kicked out of the discord because that’s fair. Mia got all upset and whiny, calling me a cunt out of nowhere. Normally, I’d just let it go, until she compared me pushing her friend out of the discord to RAPE. That’s right folks… she compared a pretty inoffensive dispute to rape. Upon that, I told her rape victims would be offended that she is making a joke out of rape by comparing it to that. She didn’t like that and left the discord. And then rejoined a few days later LOL. Honestly, she feels like she needs to be the center of attention at all times. Remember when someone made a “fanclub” post for another player and the first comment was her saying how she needs a fanclub of her own? Yeah, well, nobody commented on the post for her club. Why undermine someone else’s post like that in the first place? Really childish. She has also attributed her rudeness and snappy behavior with her medications. That’s a sign this person is NOT stable and cannot see things from a neutral perspective. Staff should be unbiased in their rulings, and I’m afraid I can envision somebody offending her leading to a mute because she’s got mood swings. I’m not saying people on meds should not be staff, that’s discrimination. I’m saying that if you constantly have mood troubles and can’t contain it, why should you be given the power to handle chaos when you are chaos itself? Cheers! slushi |

Putting aside the toxic public face of wonesnco and it’s members personas, I do think it is important to address this in a respectful manner. As I continue to learn the intricacies of what it takes to be a moderator in an environment such as webbcraft, and especially following the fallout of the Leke situation, I don’t think throwing more toxicity towards other users is an ideal way to resolve conflict, and I very much hope that you will agree with me on that Lexi. Hence I am hoping you will take this response at face value, as I said I am absolutely willing to listen to constructive criticism, but in this case the threats of posting to the forum felt far more insidious than constructive, regardless of your intent. Either way, let me entertain your points and hopefully we’ll come to a resolution which can bring us both up, rather than knocking one or the other down.1 - I completely agree that the Mush Exposed Account was unnecessary- as I’m sure anyone would. It was a joke which was taken a bit too far- and even as it continued I tried to distance myself from it. But I have already handled that in private, apologizing to those who I unintentionally hurt with it, and taking responsibility. Denying association with immature activities such as that account would in no way benefit me- as once again I am trying to improve, as I hope we all are. While to some extent I do believe the response on some individuals parts to the account was overblown, nevertheless I do accept my role within it, and once more am focusing on bettering myself from such an experience, as to ensure I don’t become involved with such toxic activities in the future, which I hope my behavior and overall outlook changes as of late can attest to. 2 - As for being ‘obsessed’ with power, Lexi I fundamentally disagree. There is an incredible difference between wanting power and hoping to help change things for the better, and be an active member of a community which I have been apart of for some time now. As many can tell you, I have on numerous occasions have even stated how I did not want a form of staff, primarily due to that preconceived notion that I’m ‘obsessed’ with acquiring power. I would not be hurt, and my ego would be left unscathed if staff end up ruling me out of the candidate pool. I understand that there have been occasions when I have been immature, and admittedly toxic. I have no shame in admitting that. However I never once have been infected by a greed or lust for power- anyone who truly knows me and interacts with me in a regular basis, either on or off the server would know that. 3 - As for pressure, both relating to the Leke situation and handling a server as a whole, I hope my current and future behavior and sweep aside any doubts that may be lingering following that occasion. I understand that the Leke incident was handled improperly, despite attempts to go through proper channels- but even then it was taken seriously, and we ensured that toxicity in the server like I was encountering wouldn’t be tolerated. Just to note, Leke did receive a ban following my report, although to be fair due to occasional retaliation I received a 24 hour mute. But that was then and this is now. I am more than well aware of the complaints volleyed at staff, and am more than capable of understanding the grade school notion that not everyone will like you. I hope even you can see I am not that vain of an individual. As for the last message you sent, which came off as a threat and an attempted attack on myself more than anything else, I would like to just simply note that I have made it clear in the past, and intend on making it crystal clear starting with this interaction with you, Lexi, that I will not entertain individuals threatening me and attempting to defame me both in private and in public. While I would usually take to a policy of ignoring and moving on with my life, once again knowing that not everyone will like you in life, on this occasion I wanted more so to turn it into an example. This is just one more instance in which there are two sides to every story. Two perspectives- two sets of eyes staring at one situation may see vastly different ‘true’ things. Once again, I am aware of that- but I will not allow one perspective to tell a story about me, attempting to discredit myself publicly, and not expect a public rebuttal. Hence the effort I am making on my side to not only defend myself, but to showcase that I am more than aware of the plethora of perspectives which may gaze at one situation. I know I may not be able to handle everything at once, no individual is that capable, but I hope that as a member of a team I can help to add another perspective for situations, and help to generate outcomes which are fair to all parties involved. This mod app isn't about WonesnCo (or me personally). Also you're acting like your toxic behavior happened last year and that you've completely changed as a human being. I’m not going to vote, because I really don’t know what to vote and I don’t know who you are. I know you’re the Angenova Mia but I don’t know if you’re the old mod mia coming back or if you’re someone new lol.Onto my actual reply though, Lexi is completely right. Staff are supposed to be upstanding members of the community, role models that players are supposed to look up to and follow after. Many of the current staff, notably the mods aren’t doing so well in this aspect, but seem to be getting slowly better especially with the two new additions to the team. The job is stressful and I personally know that. You’re going to have people shit talking you all day, bots will come in, other stuff will happen and you will get pissed off. A big thing a mod needs to have is control over there emotions, or else you’ll end up being randal and getting pissed off when people want power, need something out of luvaxp or something. Also, having staff doesn’t mean that you finally get to help people. If you truly care about the community, you should help out people anyways without mod, try to get new players in, all that. If you can’t help someone, send them to someone who can. Mod is just a title, and let’s you help people a little more than you could before. When staff are looking to fill up a new position they aren’t looking to see who’s got the most experience, who’s been playing the longest or anything like that. They look for someone who is in love with the community, wants to give their part and help the server stay alive or even grow. If you can’t deal with the everyday chores of being a staff member on any server, or you’re unsure of what’d you do if you get that position, then I personally wouldn’t go for it. You can look at previous staff like ckvoss or Randal, and see what staffing has done to them. It’s a hard job, and it can always get harder. I think WonesNCo is a vital part of the server, especially for training staff for the rigors of what could be the next couple years ahead of them. They’re a toxic group of people who will do anything to get in your head and piss you off, which is great for staff. They will beat you down, and you will have to build yourself up. If you can’t control yourself, then you’ll become either an inactive member of the team, or an abusive power hungry staff trying to kick all the toxic people out for looking at you the wrong way. |
