As many know, today I held a meeting on the server to address a few things, mainly which all boiled down to this: Working as a community Potential Projects to work on Staff issues Luigi causing problems for us all (Skip to the end of the post if you just want a conclusion) The meeting itself as anyone who was part of it will know, was awful. That is why I've come here to simplify things. Chances are, if you're reading this, you're likely part of what would be considered the inner community of mushroom co. We all know each other, the staff, anto, Mia, Minx, Pres, Tim, Amer, helpers, astro, etc. You're all important members of the community, you're all well known, you make mush what it is. If you look at mush, you'll see lots of people mainly working by themselves, or at most, with other people in their faction. Asking someone to help you out digging an underground space is not working together, that's a common job. I want this community to come together and help each other, make things we can all use. Anarchy servers like 2b2t have shown in their past that community projects are possible, countless times. So why do we, an organized, peaceful faction, no grief server not work together? Simple: Economy. People work alone to better themselves, not as groups. People want to gain as much as they can themselves, which many have been seen doing. We need to stop acting alone and do things together. Even just 20 people working together can accomplish a lot, and I know this server has more than 20 people who care about it enough to help better it. I am asking you members of the community to join one another with me, we can put together many things for all of us to use. This is not for the player base (e.i. anyone who plays) this is for the community. The inner circle of mush if you will. There are countless ways to keep unwanted people out, so if you're worried about poor defaults griefing, please stop, it's unnecessary. Here's a prime example of something we could all do: People in need of transporting mobs have two options: Have an OP use commands, or travel on foot, usually done through the nether, cause it's 8 times faster. The amount of staff with the ability to do this is small, those few that can aren't on all the time, and when they are, they're usually busy, which we cannot blame them for. I've seen people who have gone through the nether in an attempt to transport mobs, and let's just say it doesn't always go too well. Again, back to 2b2t, they've made highways in the nether many times, and even they hold up pretty well, only really being compromised when large groups want to cause problems. You see where I am going with this: We make nether highways on our server. A large group can get a job like that done fairly quickly, where as if nobody were to act on this, people going through the nether would tunnel through themselves, taking hours to do alone, or we could just all work together once. With all that out of the way, here's the bottom line: I want you people in the community, my friends, to join me and each other to do what you can so that this place is easier for all of us. This not only increases interactivity, player activity, but also decreases the need for us to have staff do things for us. Projects that would take months may only take days, if we all just stop playing only for ourselves, and rather play together. That is the point of a server after all, to play with others, not by yourselves. If you care at all about joining this group of people who will come together and do all we can to make things better in anyway we conceivably can, just say so. The restrictions on joining this group are only this: Do we all know you? |

I mean, I'd love to sit in on a meeting at some point. I don't know what I'd be useful for in the group, but I dig the idea of some kind of big community project. |

@Tye Yes. @Luva Everyone is useful, the more people we have the better. @Armz We'll likely have plenty of cobble if we have any projects for over-world digging, but that's probably not gonna be soon. |

That list was just to summarize what went on. If you want details then here they are: It's been over a month on this new map and we still don't have commands, staff only JUST got fly. Staff haven't been able to do their job fully without all their commands, and we players have been waiting and waiting and it's been too long. On top of that, Luigi is withholding actual owner privileges from Shad, which as yesterday showed us, is causing problems for the server, given that it was down for half of the day. He's also implemented sales tax which everyone hates. That's all I remember off the top of my head. |

I would like to help but my problem is I've always been a true single player type or hermit. BUT I always help anyone that asks as best I can. So I help build if you see me on but would rather provide materials that you need to build. If you can give me a list and I'll try to get that some of that ready. |

Just saw this thread. Maybe it's time for another meeting. 100% +1 for the idea of (what I believe to be known as) a nether hub, yeah most of us have fly and with tp it's easy to get about, but not when it comes to mobs. Other group projects I've seen include:A centralised server village trading posts Multiple 'spawn like' cities, each with differing themes Over world rail systems or boat paths etc. We all know it's annoying when the map gets reset, but why not work to make the map we are on great for all! As for the other topics mentioned, well, we all know how that goes... |
