I'm not the most active player of the server but I do love my rabbits and having to worry about if my animals will be gone the next time I log on sucks this is the second time all my animals are killed. The admins said they couldn't do anything about my animals dying the first time it happened. However it doesn't stop me from complaining!Really tho this more of a question then a complaint but since the question comes from a complaint I'm putting it here. Are my animals dying from /butcher because I'm near spawn or it wouldn't matter if I'm thousands of blocks from spawn and it is something I gotta deal with if I wanna play on the server? |

I don't think /butcher is the problem, I think people are killing your animals for fun. I've had over a dozen people kill my animals, and I'm over 4500 meters from spawn. I personally witnessed some of them, including Karbs (who killed my horse), a friend of CREEPERNUKES (who killed 2 golems, at least 1 polar bear, and several rabbits), CREEPERNUKES (attempted to kill my bird, but failed), 2 defaults who I forgot the names of (killed dozens of donkeys, dozens of sheep, several chickens, a dozen horses, 6 cows, 20ish dogs, 5 pigs), StarCookie (who killed a donkey), and many others those are just the ones I witnessed. |

Make sure your animals are completely enclosed in a shelter so people can't get to them and kill them. |

okay thanks I kinda thought two layers of fencing would keep my rabbits safe but I guess not and all my other animals where just behind a trap door in the ground so I guess I just assumed no one would be an ass and kill my animals however I'm now redesigning my animal pen so players killing my animals shouldn't be a problem any more (I hope) |

Is that an OP command only? I was never able to lock my animals. |

There are problems with allowing everyone to lock animals, it takes up space in the database since the records aren't removed if the animals die, and it can lag the server from too many entities since the animals can't die naturally or be killed by anyone but the owner. |

It doesn't matter how hard you lock your animals away, people still use jump to get thru doors and trapdoors, enderpearls and chorus fruit to gain entry to totally enclosed buildings with no doors. People get ticked off because some of their pets they name and r quite fond of. Some People work up their horses to really good fast jumpers and others use animals like sheep etc for an income. when they get killed a lot of people are getting ticked off as staff don't believe them and refuse to replace them, or only replace a few so u have to again time after time spend more resources building the numbers back up. Some people like to lay out a farm above ground as its pleasing and they love farming, maybe staff need to be more relaxed about replacing peoples animals. |

@Belg Most of the time you ask staff you should be able to get them respawned. The reason we only spawn in a few of them is because having an extreme amount of entities can cause lag for the server. I personally respawn 6 of each kind of mob (Assuming the player had 6 or above) so that they can maybe breed them once or twice to have like 15 of each kind of animal. But they should probably stop there. In short: it's just to discourage entity cramming. |

Yes, entity cramming creates a lot of lag. Each time an entity collides with another, it does stuff to calculate the collision and so the more entities that are in a closer space, the more collisions there are, and the more lag there is. |
