Since luigi posted the most active players in november, it came across to me that there is so many inactive staff members. Without afk hours, the lowest person had (who happened to be a staff member) had a little under 60 hours. That's pretty good, with an average of 2 hours per day. But, what does that say for other staff members? It shows that there are inactive staff, and there are people who are trying for staff, and who are 10 times more active. I get some of them are good staff, but there are others who are just as good and who are way more active. What really bothers me is that most of these staff lied on their applications, saying that they can be on for much more time than they are actually. Just something i noticed. |

I think the point was more understandable before it was edited. |

Back when I joined I was very very active.I just been inactive due to irl stuff and right now I am gonna be inactive for at least a week or 2 because tomorrow(Hopefully) my good laptop is getting sent out to get fix, I accidentally dropped it and the screen is broken. Right now I'm on a backup laptop but it has 2.23 GB free of 28.5 GB on the hard drive, and with that much I will be lagging a shit ton so I am not even gonna try to get minecraft on this laptop. I will be checking in via minechat every here and there. |

Circumstances can change a lot, you can't compare values people put on their applications 1 year or more ago with today and then accuse them of lying when it's clearly out of date.Staff usually have good reasons for being inactive and are entitled to a break. As long as there are enough staff who are active on the server, there isn't a problem. |

^ There are twelve staff, so if each of them plays 2 hours a day then that is the whole day covered. Obviously there are some staff that play like 5+ hours a day. So all timezones are covered, even if a few staff cant get on one day. What is more important in my opinion is that the staff do their job when they are online. |

I don't exactly disagree with what you said here Alpaca. Everyone that has made an application has then after become super active. It's mostly to impress other staff members and make them think you're going to keep on being super active in the future, but the truth of the matter is once you become staff you stop being as active as you were before you were staff. We've seen this happen tons of times throughout our stay on the server. The only exceptions I can remember are ckvoss and Ellie. (I know there are more). People just underestimate how much time they can put into being active on here. |

Who are the staff you guys dont see on much?Larus, for most staff it takes like 2 years of constant activity to then become a little inactive, so i agree with you but imo as long as staff are on atleast an hour a day then thats pretty good, the more important thing is whether in that hour if they are doing their job or not, and ive seen many staff slacking off on help for newer players who dont know what their doing |

2 hours a day isnt that bad. an hour a month. an hour a day isnt that bad either. 30 hours a month is about our minimum, and it is only below that amount that I would be rather concerned. Additionally, regardless of serverwide opinions, Staff do not exist solely to play minecraft and staff the server. Stuff happens, people have to take breaks, get fed up of playing and need some time, etc etc. They are entitled to that break, provided it is not without reason. |

I actually got 730 active hours, but the server couldn't handle my incredible activity, so it slipped me into 22nd place to prevent a server meltdown. |

GraetiztGamer i wasnt saying staff are on at all times. I was saying that if we got a staff team who was that active then we would be able to fill the whole day |

CCShad it's funny because in the actual activity list, places 31st 32nd and 33rd were all staff members |

Going with what Loki said, things do happen, and everyone needs breaks - that's just a fact - for a number of reasons, like finals, work, classes, extra curricular activities, etc. But with that being said, to me, this seems like the perfect reason to add more people to the staff team - more than just 12 people on the team. Because things do happen, and people do need breaks, so why not add more people to the team so that, if, say, 4 members of the team need a break or have something going on, there's other staff that can be online and whatnot. Just a suggestion, but I do think there should be more staff on the staff team. Edit: I posted this in the wrong post, my bad x-x (but it kinda still fits in this post too, I think?) |
