Maybe bring back creative to donors? or if not maybe the other commands they had like /feed or /heal. Or if not any of those things then maybe remove donator cause it will be useless.

I'd like to see the following changes:
-/pay returned to Donators
-The economy, I think that items need to have a base value of some sort (because /worth seems to be inaccurate)

I want to be able to edit my posts. It's been almost nine months since I have been able to. I do not spam nor do I post non-constructively - luigi disabled my post editing because I created spam with the removal of comments on my moderator application back in (February?). I don't think I deserve it.

I've been told you were considering a [Member]+ rank? Please change it to [Veteran], Member+ sounds boring.

I'd like the name change rule to be less strict. You should keep your rank but not your shit - It's pretty much a purchase, we need to end this "it was only a donation" bullshit.

Donators can use /withdraw as a substitute to /pay.

Last time I checked /worth the prices seemed accurate.

A [Veteran] rank would sound like they've been in a war.

The username changing rule will not be changing. After someone has changed their username multiple times, it gets very hard to remember when they donated. I've even said this before, the rule is more than accommodating to username changers. Donator ranks are kept permanently, unless you change your username, in which case they are only kept for 6 months. This is very generous compared to other servers that have a monthly subscription for ranks or they are only kept for 1-3 months and then expire.

Checking IPs is completely worthless as most of IAPs now provide dynamic IPs which basically means that you have a different IP on each router session. So all you have to do to change your IP is to reboot your router.

To actually check who is who, you would have to look at uuIDs since these are unique to everyone even if they had changed their username, and that can be very frustating.

To demonstrate this, we have an individual which username is Toto9000 and his uuID is e6fd2341-4392-49fa-7921-6f46e669e72e, now let's say he doesn't like the meme "It's over 9000!!!" anymore so he decides to change his username to Toto3000. His uuID will still be e6fd2341-4392-49fa-7921-6f46e669e72e.

Now which one is better to remember?

or

e6fd2341-4392-49fa-7921-6f46e669e72e

... Though so...

Luigi and Chip, I want you to add a feature where we can like or dislike (agree or disagree) on posts or comments on the forums.

This feature should of been added a long time ago, it's an essential for a forum page.

Ruben, regardless, Luigi's argument is invalid because he should be able to keep track of UUIDs just as well as Usernames with this thing called Microsoft Excel (or Google Sheets). Really, it's not a problem. And, with most everyone using nicknames, it's really not a problem when someone changes their name because you still know who they are (because of their nickname).

Also, you should update factions because this version is really old.

It's not Luigi's problem if someone decided to change their username, he shouldn't be forced to change an username linked to an uuID everytime someone changes his username, because I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, the database won't do it itself and will treat the recently changed username as a new player thus this "new player" will appear with the same uuID as his previous username. The database is already overloaded with players and it will get even more if it adds a new player each time someone changes his username.

EDIT :

To be honest this could be avoided by implementing a script of SQL queries that would change the username everytime it detects two players with the same uuID.

ruben, your argument is the most invalid thing i've seen. the only thing that has to be done is a username update if a new user comes on with the same uuID as a previous player.

for example, Notch's uuID is 069a79f4-44e9-4726-a5be-fca90e38aaf5

if he changes his name to Notch1, then logs on to a server he's been on before, the only thing that has to be done is a search for the same uuID, update the username from Notch to Notch1, and then done.

It's not like people change their username every day. It's limited to once a month. Besides, every other server i've been on has been able to support username changes without any loss of data from any player.

You're all missing the actual issue.

you associate memories of a player to their username. as soon as someone changes their username, you don't recognize that player as the one that you have memories with. people wont recognize you and they;'ll see you as a player they havent met.

Poor Luigi has repeated this so many times. I don't understand why you lot don't understand...

Okay, so far we have:

-Introduce another rank which has a few more commands, i was thinking about giving this rank /near, /seen, and /ignore. possibly available to receive rank if you are a member and you get another 2 vote tokens? comment below what you'd like this rank to be named.

-sort out /worth, i just had a look into this, the simplest way to do this is by updating essentials, this way the newest items will be valued and the latest version of essentials has some good features to do with selling items.
i am personally fully behind updating essentials, i asked about this when i was Donator+. Unfortunately i cannot update / edit plugins, only Luigi can.

-return /pay to donators, i agree. /pay was removed from donators because they sold GMC items in the server shop and then used /pay to give other players illegitimate money. Now that both GMC and the old shop have been removed, i see no reason why /pay should not be returned.

-sorting out the rank permissions, i also agree here. i find it a little ridiculous that in some of the permissions, VIP+ has more than builder.

How about for the new rank you have a different colour member prefix? Like 3 different stages of member????

Like Green member is you played for 1 year an you get basically nothing.

Say another colour for playing there and being what ever idk. And it having commands equivalent to VIP

And then to get the 3rd one you donate and it could be discounted value towards VIP+?????

I have a different login to luigi, he has the proper, full access, but I have a different login, I'm a "Sub-User". I have the exact same layout as luigi but I can't access most of the options. I can only access the console and the player manager.

And chip if that's the reason then I have to say that is quite ridiculous. It's their problem if no one is going to remember them, and by the way I'm unsure but I think that when someone changes their username and logs on the server, his join message will come with a (formely known as ...)... so...

About /pay, why was it removed in the first place?

Well... they could still /withdraw, so I don't see a point on removing /pay except they didn't pay taxes...

As a thing to add, a research bar on the forums to search for topics or topics written by a specific person.

First things first, I really hope you guys actually plan on implementing some of these suggestions, becuase otherwise thus thread will have been a waste of everyone's time.


Anyway, here is what I would like to see changed, booth by order of importance, and necessity.

1. Fix the economy by setting a price floor for each items, so that shops can't undervalue items. If you can't do this by editing the current shop plugins and don't want to install new plugins, I would recommend make a list of price floors for each item and then making a rule that no shop can sell for less than the price floor, otherwise the shop for that item gets removed.

2. Donations page needs to be fixed ASAP. You wouldn't want the server getting in trouble for false donation advertising.

3. Create a public ban log, so that it will be easier for users to know for sure why they are being banned and if it is permanent or not so that they can more easily make an appeal, also so players can keep staff accountable for their bans. A thread in the forums would be the easiest way to do this.

4. Server shop. Fix the server shop. An actual server shop would be where the players can buy and sell items to and from the server, instead of players, that way they cn always have anything available to them that they wnt to buy, and so they can actually have a way to make money from their hard work. The current server shop is not actually a server shop, but us just a small player market, which is bullshit to call it a "server shop"

5. /worth. Now, I don't know if /worth bases worth on the rarity of an item, but I am willing to bet it is. /Worth should be based off of supply and demand, such as how often certain items are bought in the player shops and how olmuch is supplied. If /worth cannot base it on supply and demand, then it should not even exist.

6. Mcmmo. Would be nice and make the game much more fun, but not absolutely necessary

I believe that a member+ rank should be added, as it would be a great contribution to keeping people on the server. To gain the rank you would have to have been on the server for >1 year.

It would grant the user access to some small commands, or even just a few extra /homes or even just a colored nick. /near or /feed etc would be good commands to give to the rank but any command can really be substituted.

I actually like the old versions of factions better and more people on the server are familiar with the commands which change a lot in the newer versions. The version we currently have is much more lightweight and easier to maange. Essentials can't be updated because it stores data in a new format and the 95000 userdata files would be impossible to convert, or take a very long time and crash the server. It's also pretty much the same except for the addition of new blocks, mobs and items from the newer minecraft versions which I could probably add myself by editing it.

Xario:
1. I agree with the price floor, ideally this should be integrated into the shop plugins but that might be complicated to do, especially in ChestShop. If it were to be done manually, such as by having something like /worth show the minimum prices, then this could be difficult to enforce and open up a black market. Currently the system is pretty much entirely free market, which has the advantage of supply and demand sorting itself out to determine an equilibrium price, but also just like in the real world, there are issues of inequality and market power abuse.

2. I will update it as soon as possible.

3. This is up to staff if they want to do it. It could be a hassle and I don't think they deserve any extra burden on top of the many things they already do. Usually the ban reason already lets a player know why they were banned, if they need more information they can always post an inquiry here on the forums in the complaints or ban appeals section.

4. We used to have a server shop where players could buy and sell things to the server, but a lot of people complained how the economy was broken because this was too easy to abuse. The main problem was that the prices were static and didn't adjust with supply and demand, creating an unlimited supply and demand that could be abused. For example, someone who owned an automated sugarcane farm (or other) could sell sugarcane at below what the server bought it for, then advertise their shop as a way to make infinite money by telling players to buy from them and sell to the server for a profit. One solution proposed was the elimination of the server shop entirely and just have it replaced with player shops, which was implemented. Now that I think of it, another solution could be to have the server shop automatically adjust prices whenever items are bought (increase price) and sold (decrease price) to it. I have yet to create a plugin for this but will look into it.

5. /worth would incorporate the aforementioned.

6. I never really liked mcmmo and it's quite a hefty plugin that could lag the server, but if a lot of people want it added I could make a vote on it.
