Halloweenification

I can’t wait for Halloween! I bet you can’t either! In fact, I bet we are all excited for Halloween! Which is why I am happy to announce the project that I will be working the most on in the month of October! It is the Halloweenification of the server!
(I apologize if this post does not make as much sense as it could, I typed it up once before, but the server logged me out, and it was lost because of that, so I am retyping the whole thing all over again)

What Halloweenification is, is basically making spookier than it normally is, and the great thing about this project is that everyone can join in on this! In fact, I encourage all players who want to join, to do so! It’s going to be a lot of fun :)

Below are some ideas that I have been using to already Halloweenify the server since I first thought of Halloweenification earlier in September:

-More Oak Forests:
Forests at night can be pretty spooky, and I have been using oak saplings and dark oak saplings to create forests in biomes that usually do not have forests.

-Fossils above ground:
I have been adding fossils above ground, using bone blocks, and had an idea for a giant skeleton monster that could be made, but I don’t plan on making it. I just plan to stick to the generic Minecraft fossils, but if anyone wants to make a giant skeleton monster, I encourage them! Aldo, if you need bones for bone blocks, there are plenty of skeleton spawners that players can point you to.

-Giant jack o’ lanterns/more regular jack o’ lanterns:
Platty has made a giant jack o’ lantern that looks pretty cool. If other players wanted to make some, that would be awesome! I recommend using green and orange hardened clay. Orange hardened clay can be found in Mesa biomes, and so can regular hardened clay that can be dyed green.

-Trick-or-Treat village:
While I don’t plan on making this, it would be awesome to see someone else make it. I had this idea after I heard what the Mushroom Co did last year for Halloween. It would be awesome if someone made a village of houses where players could trick-or-treat at, and where they can also be in the houses to give out items. If someone makes this and arranges some trick-or-treat events, I would definitely give out items. If someone wants me to help coordinate an event like this, I wouldn’t mind helping plan it as long as someone else makes the village.

-More spiderwebs:
Spiderwebs can be extracted from Mineshafts using shears, and can help spookify things when applied to the corners of buildings and other structures. I actually had this idea just yesterday, and have already started applying spiderwebs to some structures in my faction.

-Naming bats:
You may or may not know this, but adding a named name tag to an entity will prevent it from despawning. Keeping more bats around for October would definitely increase the spookification of the server! I don’t recommend this for hostile mobs though, as they will likely still attack you and will likely be killed by other players as well.


Those are all of my current ideas. I started Halloweenifying my faction, but you can start from anywhere in the world that you want! Also, I welcome more ideas that anyone may have in Halloweenifying the server! Hope you all have fun with this! ouo

Oh, and what about those traps some British people (like meeeee) put up? Like those pop up bat things? I don't know if you know what I mean, but if we set up noise maker traps or bat release things or something, it would be pretty cool!

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the pop-up bat things, but if you find an example online, feel free to link it! I would like to see what you mean, cuase it sounds pretty cool! :D

Here are my current ideas for the halloween festival:
-It should run for 48 hours, so it is open for people in both the southern and northern hemispheres.
-There will be atleast 5 different rides. Rollercoasters, jump scares, more.
-Throughout the 48 hours, there will be certain events that only run at that time.
- There will be a mobathon (hopefully) every hour. We’ll do our best to do as many as possible.
These are my only plans for now, but I have only been working on it for half an hour or so.

Pikachu, this thread is about decorating for the entire month and doing events during the month, not just on Halloween. Of course most of the players are gong to be offline on Halloween night :P I know that I definitely am going to be.

Thanks Cloudy. While it may be more difficult to gather resources in survival, the beauty of it is that it teaches you resource gathering skills, not to mention I have pumpkins for sale, there are already name tags for sale, saplings, bones, and spiderwebs can be easy to come by if you know where to find them, and I would gladly point players to where they can find these resources :)

Unfortunately becuase of the server reset, all of the Halloweenification that was done on the old world is lost. And I will admit that it will be more difficult to do again now that everyone had to start over with nothing, and that all the work being lost is a little depressing.

Nonetheless, I encourage players to begin Halloweenification again. I know I will be doing this, starting at the tower shop, and maybe later at my faction if I have time
