As a staff team, we are trying our hardest to punish rule breakers while still allowing them to be active in the community. Usually, we approach most situations with a ban, however, due to a recent discussion we are trying to change how punishments work.

Instead of banning someone we are beginning to jail people. For example if someone has griefed 'x' amount of blocks and would've been banned for 3 days, we will instead jail them for 3 days.

Jailing is a much more effective way of punishing players for 3 of the following reasons:
1) Jailing players still enables them to talk in the community and express their remorse.
2) The rule breaker will have to watch everyone in the chat having fun while they have to rot in a cell - it's torture >:D!
3) Banning players may not know the server IP and will never be able to come back even if they wanted to. A Jail allows them to talk in chat, express remorse and ask how to make a ban appeal.

You may say "but jails don't give you a reason for why you're jailed" - This was my first thought too, however I have created a separate staff chat were any punishments we give out are logged into the chat. So, if you're even in jail we can go onto that chat and find out the reason and length.

Overall, this is a much more community-friendly and effective way of giving punishments and I hope that all the staff can comply to this new method easily. I'm sure the server will much prefer this than straight up bans :)

Reason 3) Banned players may not know the website name and in result will not be able to make a ban appeal, forcing them to quit forever. -Mistake-

That's what I suggested as Well. Give abusers more time before an actual ban such as mute or jail.
