Years ago I got banned on a dutch server, cause I wanted to get my account permanently banned there (don't know why tho). I also just asked it and didnt do anthing bad except nerdtowering. I might have been banned between 2015-2020. My account had been hijacked Tsar banned me when I asked it. srry, I failed you tsar, I didnt do the exams well... Why do you think you should be a moderator? In short (cause in my opinion a TLDR should be in front): - short Traits: Active, Honest, Willing to learn my miscomings - I already help and welcome newcomers - I already catch x-rayers and cheaters - I'm well known by the active playerbase - People already approach me when there is no staff online Activity: I did 300 hours in my first month, and I'm still really active and have a lot of projects to finish. So I will be on a lot, might as well help out a bit more : ) I now have monthly hours in the 100-200 mark. New players: I love to talk to new players, I often answer their questions over the server and important commands from coreprotect and factions. I also often give out small starter kits and with some people I just hang around kill some mobs, torch areas n such. However, speaking with so much new people, also exposes me to a lot of cheaters. Suko might confirm that xD. I also have experience with some of the hacks. (had x-ray around mc 1.2.5 and a 1.5.2 hackpack). So I can still identify some of the hacks. Also to be clear, I played modpacks offline/private servers then, not on public servers : ) Character: I'm honest and open, that's due to personal history very important to me and I take much pride in it. You can ask me anything and I reply. I'm also empathetic, I helped a few peeps with dealing with stuff. Also I dislike calling myself that, but its what my friends say, I just like to turn a cry in a smile and leave the world a little better as when I entered it. I'm also happy to be able to call a few people here as my friends. This held me back at first, but now not any more. I have learned a lot from Suko, Tye and Marsh. They really helped my communicative abilities, which I found and still find lacking. I feel ready for the fieldwork now, after dealing with issues within the faction and in the words of others, already moderating (giving server information, welcoming players, finding-catching-reporting a lot of hackers, getting approached when staff is unavailable) I can still improve on my communicative skills, and my knowledge of the server and its rules Experience: I have hosted several servers back in 2014-2016 (multiple games). I'm also experienced with most of the commands that I have acces to now. I am very familiar with core protect and the factions plugin (including their outdated limits). I often hear from new players how helpfull I have been by answering all their questions about the server and the commands. I also help returning players with explaining the ranks-crash that happened right before I joined and I am already doing things like stated above within the brackets, out of the love for the community and not because I must do that How long can you be active on the server every day? On my new schedule im probably showing up on 07-10 GMT, and 17-20 GMT. I also am online frequently between 10-17 GMT on my breaks and Im available on discord and able to come online when necessary during that time. There commonly aren't mods on during my hours. at the moment 50% of my timestamps are with 0 moderators/admins online What country do you live in? I joined on christmas 2013 after my base somewhere else got grieved. I remember the first day I logged onto the new map a few weeks ago, you helped me out and befriended me within the first few minutes of me logging on. You invited me to your faction and helped me out more than even a staff member should. Cuno is an amazing builder and is known around the community for helping many people already, and for all that I believe you truly would be an amazing mod.

JefreeStar	Date sent: 2020/12/31 04:42:39 first of all a +1 from me, litteraly from the first day i had joined cuno has been a very very friendly player. he had helped me out right away when i had asked if anyone would trade somthing for books, he was very kind and showed me how shopping and currency worked on this server. Even during my first ban he helped me through it a wrote a reply. Cuno and i have been talking for quite a long time now, and have established a good friendship. im aware this is just my opion on cuno, but i belive that everyone would agree that cuno is quite often found helping other players aswell. and getting rid of the nasty ones. even though he may have trouble with certain faction members(for valid reasons) he still helps my faction when every we need it. overall he would be a fantastic Moderator.

I think the blatant disregard for the rules shows that he would not enforce our rules the way they should be, and would rather pick and choose when to enforce certain rules. There has been some trouble in the past with him making players on the server uncomfortable as well and I'm just not sure he would be the best fit. Nice player does not always equal good staff candidate, unfortunately.

That is appreciated : ) The images are swapped, I first said that I was it, then the second one was for historical context. Containing both the racial slur that Indonesians gave to the Dutch as well as the one that the Dutch gave to my ancestors. I will dedicate more words on that within the replies, but I think its important to stay objectively in the start here. And I will respect the anonymous source's wish to stay anonymous. I would like to tell that the source shouldn't be fearful of a reaction from me or the community, as I think that no one here is mad about these screenshots being shared. It is important to create an atmosphere where people can say what they feel without any negative follow ups. Bynn, The N word used to be not so regulated in the past (2013-2014). This server was actually the place where I got introduced to it. Funfact, we did switch out the F word iirc, not 100% sure on that one I felt that I could say it about myself as it is a term that white people gave to me. My people have suffered genocide and exploitation by the Dutch VOC, some Dutch are all to keen to remind me of that, and gave us that name/slur. Tye told me that that wasn't the case so I don't anymore. Also see that I include "forest" with it, thats because that is important for an accurate translation. I'm sorry that I said it, and did not oppose the mute, Tye can confirm that I was totally fine with it. Also, it wasn't mentioned before, I thought that the general "if you are it then you can say it" society rule applied. Also, I won't choose specific rules to enforce. Or specific people to apply it to. That contrasts with my previous experiences and personality, when I see the full package than the full package will be enforced. Also it might be nice to have like a full comprehensive list of all the rules and things. I do hear some of the playerbase complain about that there is just a small summary. Also when I solved some problems in my faction, I made sure that both sides got the right consequences for their part in the conflict. Even though I would personally side with one of them. I do agree with that nice people aren't always good staff, that is also part of why I made this application. I need to see how to improve and to be honest, mistakes are to be learned from right? I used to be really unsure about my previous mistakes. But most people have told me how they actually quite like me now. i.e. Jefree/Massimo, Rad/Flynn/Fox, Rooster are the ones that come first to mind. Chrom, a few words dont really describe immaturity. Especially if they are true. I'm labeled as such and simply said that. But indeed it was kinda immature to comply with lizzy's (or maddie's) wish to say the n-word. I myself have no problem saying the slur that people gave me. Since I know that racist actions hurt more than the word. As I have personally experienced. But yes, it was not the smartest to comply. Leke, I personally think that I don't encourage racism. I do think it is important to speak about it as it is a problem that needs to be adressed, that is why I'm always really open to share my views and experiences. For pedophilia, you can consult some of my faction members. Some of them know that I actually have crush on someone (less then a year older than me). Also for promoting I think I must say that the people that ask others to say the n-word and greet the server with "hello sexies and pedophiles" are doing a better job with that than me. Also could you make sure that you put the right +1 or -1? I can see the sarcasm now, but it would be nice for people to see a more true representation when they quickly look through it. Pls edit it if it wasn't your intention to +1 me. Maddie Could you please tell me how I cannot run a faction? Together with Fox/Flynn I established the framework of democracy and an open and supportful environment for my members where we share our daily live problems and issues. I also solved multiple problems within the faction and made sure that all those involved found it a respectable outcome. Even when it comes to myself. I also set-up a report method so that people can share their views on me with a more trusted individual. Also, unimportant side-note, why did you make me google that xD. Its my own fault tho, I'm not really up to date with the new popular words. All, just for clarity, I'm against destructive racism and pedophilia as I have suffered from both. I have experienced more racism than pedophilia tho. I only got assaulted once. (that translation is kinda weird IMO, in dutch we have a word that is only for cases like this "aanranden") For the incident. I thought the general society rule of if you are it you can say it applied. After tye said I can't I didn't and won't do it again. I generally stop when asked, but am susceptible to failing when pushed or specifically asked for it. Anyway, thanks for your replies, Byn, Chrom, Minx, Maddie and Leke. I hope that I explained my view on the situation. And please reply further, as it is an important and nuanced subject and I'm not afraid to share my views and experiences I would also love to receive more slip-ups as they show me how I can improve. You guys can reply here for big things or just mail me ingame something along the lines like "I would like to report an issue I have with you" for minor events.

I've witnessed him welcome and provide all the information needed to new and old players alike. In addition, it's no surprise his faction has become one of the biggest and most successful on the server recently; helped by his attentiveness, high activity, friendliness, and knowledge of the server and game. I believe Cuno is good at knowing and enforcing the rules, even though he's not yet a staff member, so it's not yet his responsibility. He's also often online when no staff member is, maying him a good choice regarding timezone. Sometimes I think Cuno takes the game, particularly the factions system, a little too seriously; a negative in my view but probably a positive as a staff member. As for bias in enforcing rules, I believe any and all current staff are sometimes guilty of this- no-one's perfect. As for areas of improvement for Cuno, I've spoken to him directly myself. The recent "N-word scandal" is a good example. While Cuno made an honest mistake by saying it, it can be looked at in several different ways. On one hand, Cuno's "if you are it you can say it" argument isn't bad, and generally works in society. However, on an online server where 1. you cannot verify your racial identity and 2. young or impressionable (or downright immature) players may see and repeat the word, it is absolutely unacceptable to say. That goes for any offensive and harmful slurs, no matter your own identity. So, while Cuno made an honest mistake, accepted his punishment, and I believe he will not make the same mistake again, I'd like to see him take more responsibility and apologise. Cuno- owning your mistakes rather than justifying them is a great quality that staff members and general good people should strive for. I believe Cuno is fully capable of making these improvements, and would make a fantastic staff member and mod for the server :):) PS - the amount pedophilia is mentioned on this server is pretty concerning; maybe consider adding this to the list of banned and mutable subject matter.

During the inauguration of an Etrarian, most of us answered "making new friends" as one of their goals. I just simply provide the ability to talk for some of our people. People really became real friends within Etras and I think that that is beautiful. About the faction enforcement - Someone lost his faction mod because he kicked someone from the faction. It was part of the solution for a bigger problem that was happening. Both sides agreed it to be fair - Someone lost his faction mod because he ignored the wishes of one of our members. It had been returned afterwards. Again, no further complaints. - Within Etras discord there have been several helper rank switches. That has to do with how one uses their permissions. Again only time-outs have happened until now. - No we don't have a hateclub. We come to make friends, not to discuss our enemies. only time that we talk about others are commonly within the #votes. And the "start shit or have shit", might be more your thing than our faction. I don't promote hate (its a crime here) and TBH you aren't that bad, so I severely doubt if everyone hates you. Maybe ask them why they "have shit" with you and try to work it out together. You've already said you're sorry, and that you've learned from your mistakes, but there's still some work to be done. I still do think you'd be a decent candidate for staff, but I'd recommend giving one more look over the rule book (/kit rules) just so you can get a clear view of how things are ran here. Remember, racism is not tolerated, same with any slurs of any kind, no matter what race you are. Obviously it'll take some time to earn back the community's trust, but if you really want to be a mod it's an effort you're gonna have to make. Like I said, take another look at the rule book and get a clear definition of what the rules are before you plan on enforcing them.

Like Tye said, you need some time to make sure you understand all the rules in depth. I will say though, at least you were honest that you messed up Cuno. But again, as Tye said you still have a bit to improve on. But I do find it strange to read it like this, especially seeing the talk we had Tye. It's not that classy do do a flip a like that. However It still counts what tye said tho. But I do suggest @Shad or another staff to make a more comprehensive list of what is and isn't exactly allowed. Someone else also said that this was unknown to them. I do /kit rules regularly, but for some of the players including me it is to vague. Even worse are those signs at spawn. Also tye, I had my flaws and things, my resume was never spotless and I will never claim it to be spotless. What counts is the willingness to improve and how most people view a player. I'm still the open, approachable, kind, dependable, helpful, active, honest faction leader of Etras. And the people that I met after do know me as such. Even after the scandal.

I warned him as I'm supposed to, and then people said there was a second. I double checked through logs to confirm the second, and I issued the mute then. You have to realize I was AFK and the server was decently civil, and then I come back and everyones screaming about muting.

Moderators gain things like GMC and more core protect abilities and some faction bypasses, as far as I can see. I already have GMC, I do use the normal /cinfo sometimes and doubt how the other core protect elements could benefit me. The faction bypasses are things that can be abused. I think that most people can confirm that I dont often leave Etras territory, some people can also confirm that I don't tresspass. Exception was when stuff got dropped at lxp and no staff was online.

On top of that if you are active, I don’t know it you still help people. This is my fault though, I need to get on more. You also frequently talk about being online on the discord so I’m guessing you’re relatively active. I hope no one lingers on to what happened almost a year ago, especially since I know at least now that you’re a great person who cares about others feelings.

I occasionally help people, there aren't many new people around tho, so it's just talking mostly. I got to help more like 2 people with getting oriented. If people still want to judge that then I'm fine with it. If anyone wants to talk or vent to me about it then I'm always available. My discord is "open" so people can just freely message me. Most people know how I am, some know what I am. And if they still say that I'm nice then I know that I still have my place on this server. ty all : )
