Instead of spamming new players that join the game to join your faction, in order to be able to claim more land, why shouldnt we PAY for the land we want to claim... Would that not make sense? Any new player would love to join a faction with 400+ members, just giving such a faction even more land to claim, more power, and just leading to the useless waste of claimed land by the huge factions. Make land claiming a fair price, thus evening the amount of land a person can claim without leaving them hopeless, because no one wants to join a 2 playered faction. This would lead to team work and donating money from factions in order to gain more land. Am I the only one? |

Unsure, A lot of people don't want to earn much money and they shouldn't have to if they don't want to. Another server I played on everytime you vote you got a few more claimblocks so you could slowly add to your claim but you could also buy claimblocks from the server shop, maybe you can buy bonus power which would increase your claim area. By joining factions yes it is hit and miss but a lot of people want to be part of a group and its an easier way for newbies to mix and interact with current players. |

In reply to Belg, I am very sure every player does want to earn money, but yet they cant because of this economy we have. And with voting for more claim land, does not seem like a good idea, due to just another endless way to gain land without working for it (just like inviting new players to an already massive fac). A server shop is surely needed if *coughcough* if you know who would add it back in. But yes many do want to be apart of a group, but the faction should not be rewarded with even more claim land for doing nothing but pressuring, if to say so, newer players to join them. My recomendation builds more team work and a bond, by the faction working together to gain more land for the benefit of the faction. |

Actually toxic, every player does NOT want to earn money. I used to be filthy stinkin rich on this server, and my balance currently, is very small. Having played both ends of the spectrum, I have no interest in earning money, or running shop, which is the only effective means. Not many shops offer the sell option, meaning to really earn any large sum of money is to own and run a large scale shop. And using that money to buy claim land? ineffective. Some players often have ridiculously large amounts of money, often several million. This would not lead to cooperation between factions, it would lead to competition between factions to break the economy and find the best way to earn limitless funds. So Id say that both belgnbor and Toxics suggestions are ineffective, and may even have opposite the effect intended.-1. I believe the current method could be improved however. Obviously, a faction gets a bit more land when a new player joins. But, Admins have the ability to grant claim power, unless that was removed and i am unaware. When my old faction was big, I asked for more land grants than was needed, and we wound up claiming vast amounts of unnecessary land, to the point where there were complaints of people finding massive unused claims, and I was barely able to solve any of it due to the large amounts. My fac mods and sometimes myself claimed far to much without knowing the consequences. I think the current method could be improved if A. there was better fac mod screening by faction owners and B. Admins were not so generous with the doling out of land. This doesnt mean to lay the blame on any one admin or faction, it is a community wide issue. I think if admins asked for a legitimate reason for the claim grant from the faction owners, much of the overclaim issue could be resolved. As to what constitutes those reasons, the staff and luigi could discuss that, and add it to the staff handbook, and then post here on the forums the rules regarding it. |

The current way people get land is fine. Larger factions get more land because they need more houses for their members. If factions with a small amount of members plan on building something large that requires more land they can ask for more from staff, provided that the purpose is clear and the land given isn't excessive. If land was bought, economy exploiters and small wealthy factions could claim as much land as they want which would lead to much more land claim abuse with unused land claims. Also it would remove the land incentive to invite new players into factions. |
