Hi I was wondering if there can be limits to the claims of peaceful factions. A faction named Peacefarm claimed land right on top of one of my bases and there is nothing I can do about it. They havent built anything on the land it is just claimed. Is there any way I can get this land back? Thanks, gorillawhistler |

Get an admin to fix it, but tbh it was your fault for not claiming your base on your own |

Hate to disagree Galbby, but as long as its built any block broken counts as grief. That being said Issue resolved by me. |

If people don't care about their builds enough to bother claiming them, they shouldn't be surprised when someone else does, or it gets destroyed. If everyone claimed their stuff, there would be no grief on the server except from rogue faction members, which is really the only grief staff should be having to deal with. The rest is just caused by irresponsible people who burden staff unnecessarily. |

^regardless of the issue at hand, luigi, your reasoning is completely false. what if people, you know, what to build, and they either arent a faction mod or dont have enough power, even max power? youre saying they shouldnt be allowed to expand from their tiny areas?im not saying the staff should have to deal with them, however, thats their job. they are here to do things like that. they shouldnt have to, correct, but that would require people not creating the need. if they all were like you and walked away from the issues, this server would be worse than it already is. |

People can ask staff or their faction moderators to claim more land for them before they start building, or to give them more power so they can claim it themselves. Even if they do start building in land that hasn't been claimed yet, they should try and get it claimed as soon as possible if they want to protect it. That's a much better use of staff's time because it prevents future grief, rather than the temporary fix of having them keep rolling it back multiple times, or only rectifying the situation when something goes wrong. Prevention is better than cure. |

What Luigi being said, I've got a question about claiming land with "ruins" on it. I've noticed a lot of unclaimed land with random half finished builds/ruins left on them. I've watched the plots in question for days at a time and nothing had been done to the buildings in question. The plots are desirable land right outside spawn. Would claiming over these wilderness areas and destroying the houses to build our own be considered griefing? |

If there are any locked chests or furnaces there you can do /cinfo to see when it was created and who created it, then do /seen on the user or check the last time it was accessed. If the person has been inactive for a while (like over a month) then it should be fine to take the land. If it doesn't have any locked chests or furnaces, ask a staff member to check if it was built recently, and if there's no data then it should be fine to take. It also depends on the state and size of the build. If it's been completely griefed and remained like that for a while, the owner has probably neglected or abandoned it. If it's a large build, the owner is less likely to neglect it because they put more effort into it.Also, there's a lot of land in the spawn town that has been claimed but hasn't been used for anything and remained empty for a while. Sometimes it's better to use this land even if you have to ask a staff member to unclaim it for you, rather than destorying a building someone else has made in unclaimed land to build there. |
