At the event• Immeadiately either locate a chatlog or ask a staff member to. • Whether it's a spammer or a toxic person (more about that later), chatlogs are strong evidence especially if several people give the same chatlog. The only offenses chatlogs are not useful for are block-related. • Ask a staff member to help out. • Notifying a staff member at the time of offense is a lot more useful than posting it here: imagine telling a staff member as talking to the person next to you, and posting it on the forums as emailing them. • Consider whether it is an offense. •First, enter "/rules" and check the list that appears. Is this person breaking a rule? If so, how severely? • Side Note: Please remember that toxicity is NOT swearing. Toxicity is swearing multiple times or speaking offensively. For example: "F*** u mat!!!!" IS NOT toxicity (unless this is a serial offense) "Shut up u litle s*** no one likes u just f*** off" MAY or MAY NOT be toxicity depending on how it is used. "*insert racism here* IS toxicity and should be addressed accordingly. Anyways... • Were they provoked? Had someone done something to force them into doing it? • What was their reasoning? While writing a complaint post • Remember to show all details. I'd say screenshots are better evidence, and a more reliable source of information. This is because chat logs can be edited, therefore players could all group up, just to get a player banned. It is true, certain high rank staff members have access to chat logs, but screenshots are still much more reliable.Sometimes there are no staff online, and players use the forums rather than the game to report, because reporting to some non-staff is pointless. It's not toxicity, but what you have put may be considered disrespect or excessive language, giving the player every right to report. Being provoked is no reason to react badly, you simply report them and await for them to be dealt with. While writing a complaint post: - Don't freak out, the staff will take care of everything. - Use ONLY full screenshots, give the staff some context, it helps them to understand the situation. - Be as detailed and specific as possible, give every detail, if the staff wrongfully ban somebody, and it's because your complaint lacked details, you will most likely get the blame. - Type their IGN correctly. The staff do deal with the issues, perhaps not in the way we want them to, but all issues are dealt with. Sometimes players don't need a ban, just a warning, or a reminder of the rules. The server is not required to follow every demand we make, therefore the staff are free to use their own judgement when dealing with situations. People on this server believe that it's abuse if they disagree with the decision of a staff member. |
