This post isn't containing the Poll for Best staff, this post is rather a suggestion to extend onto that idea. This system i have thought of is very similar to a real-life 'Employee-of-the-month' system. All staff members - 5 mods, 5 admins, and Head-Admin are included in this system. How it works is very simple; On the 1st of each month an in-game poll is created and broadcasted for 5 days, Using the In-game voting system will allow only legitimate votes to be entered into the system - which solves the prior issue to the "Best Staff" polls. Within these 5 days players may vote for the staff member they believe has done the best job. On the 1st of the next month, the winner is placed on the top of the staff board between the Head-Admin and the Owner, (Currently myself and luigi). The staff member that wins will also have a 'token' placed into a disclosed location. These tokens will add up over time and when we need a new Admin / Head-Admin, the staff member with the most 'tokens' will be the top pick to be promoted. I think this idea could potentially eradicate the majority of staff complaints, as this idea gives the staff incentive to do a great job! If you're already the highest obtainable rank, you can earn 'tokens' out of self pride ;) - promotions will not be solely based on the amount of tokens. Promotions will also be based on current activity, etc. If Both Head-Admin and Owner believe that the vote poll of the month is biased or otherwise unfair, it may be overridden to their own choice. Promotions can also be overridden by the decision of Head-Admin and Owner - The Best staff of the month will be shown as: ![]() What do you all think? good idea? |

"as this idea gives the staff incentive to do a great job!" There are other ways to encourage staff members than this.-1. Do I really need to explain why?... This type of program is old and it shouldn't be used anymore as it tends to backfire a lot. How? By giving public recognition it might and, most probably will, lead to internal unhealthy competitions... You can raise one up but the others may feel left behind. Not to mention that this will probably make staff members focus on getting this prize and surpass the other members, rather than serving their true purpose. Instead of putting people above others with public events like this, just recognize or express gratitude for their work by telling them one on one. |

I really love this idea! It can help motivate staff, because one of the worst parts by far of being staff is the lack of recognition, and what better way than to get told by the players that you're doing a good job? I don't think there will be any major issues with this, since the staff were all selected for being mature and unselfish. That being said, I don't think the tokens should have any say whatsoever in who gets promoted or not, or maybe they shouldn't exist at all. There are multiple reasons for this, the major being the fact that this is a popularity vote above all, and the fact that you will simply have more tokens the longer you are staff. And Aouldrain's suggestion is good too. +1 |

im eager to see how many times susan will be on there, since she is legit the only one that's not a dick to people. she solves her problems without banning/being rude to whoever it is. |

-1, sorryHonestly chip, you are the best staff member out there so I will obviously vote for you. I'd honestly want you as head admin, if not you it's susan. Now I don't like this idea because as you know a lot of people will vote for staff members I don't like, which will still cause complaint. |

just because you don't like the staff member shouldn't mean it's a bad idea. it's a way to show what staff members a majority of the voting players think is best, and does their job, which from my experiences, would be susan 10/10 of the time |

@Aouldrain thank you for the words <3 Also thank you for the suggestion I'll take it into further consideration. @Ruben I am confident that what you have said, will not happen. As Emily stated the staff are chosen for their maturity, and selflessness. I truly believe that our staff won't act how you say so. @Emily, after looking back i an rethinking he token system... thank you for the feedback. :) @Matt unfortunately not everything will always go your way, you're going to have to accept that and look at the bigger picture. |

I know that everything can't go my way, nothing goes my way lmao, proof of this is that ellie is staff. What I mean is; could you imagine ellie as head admin? All the actual people will release shitstorms of complaints. I also like tom but I don't think he's ready for head admin, he still has room for improvement. Dylan is awesome, but he still needs experience as an admin first, and he isn't an admin yet. Frankly, the only people I see fit for head admin are: 1: You Chip 2: armzngunz 3: Susan |

This suggestion isn't about who's to become head admin though, it's about the idea of Staff of the Month :) |

I think this is only a good idea if you also have a "worst staff of the month". Otherwise, this is a bad idea.-1 |

You mean you think it's a good idea to make staff members feel like they are shit and useless to the server? |

Chip that's pretty much what this system is going to do but in a much bigger scale. |

'Best staff of the month' will still make staff members feel like shit cause there is the best one, then the others are all worse. |

when your co-worker gets employee of the month instead of you, do you cry and feel like you're shit? no, because that'd be immature. you say, "ill try harder next time". |
Ruben |
Date sent: 2016/12/11 19:27:25
It's not immature to "feel like shit", I mean you just feel bad, disappointed. Not everyone thinks that way Chip, stop being so naif. And maybe even you might start to feel bad when you fail for the second, third, forth time and so on. Plus, you'll feel the need to outperform your 'co-workers' for this stupid prize when it isn't really needed to. As I said above, this need to outperform, will create internal unhealthy competitions. Adults do it, they lie and do everything they can (and I mean everything really...) so they can get that monthly bonus on their salary and public recognition, it's not a bunch of teens who are going to overcome it. |

Runens points are strong. It is not needed and will have negetive affects on others who feel they have underpreformed for an imaginarey role that has no meaning no purpose. |

I don't get why so many people have so much against this idea. You provide good arguments, it's not that, but Staff of the month is so widespread, and to those of you who are old enough to have had a job working with other people, you'd know that it's not that big of a deal. You feel great when you get it, and you feel great when you don't; Chip already pointed out that the staff, like any co-workers, are not strangers, but rather friends. |

It's a good idea but.. there's cons and BIG cons.Competition Well, being honest if you have a 'Player of the month' or 'Player of the year' It's going to make a competition. But it does make you think about your mistakes. No one will really care about 'Who's better' it's an immature 'competition' if you really thing about it. This could grow to people having tantrums, or simply getting pissed off and leaving/quitting Pros: Add some competition Could be fun Cons: People argue Leaving Sadness Immaturity |

Can't believe you have actually said that Chip, when you are one of the unprofessional ones. And CK it's ok to have fun, but when you hold such position, there are limits.Emily- "but Staff of the month is so widespread" You mean staff or employee? It is "so widespread" but I'd like to note that this system is more popular in the USA, and other countries using it are most likely to be influenced by their culture. Emily- "and to those of you who are old enough to have had a job working with other people, you'd know that it's not that big of a deal" For some reason I've only had one company out of three who used this system for a while but quickly took it down for the very much reasons I mentioned above. The other two didn't had this system even though both were SMEs... |
