How to properly appeal

Listen. The mods/admin/owner are always right. No matter how wronged/right you are, their word is law. I'm a lot better at explaining with examples, so here goes:

1. Timmy78 has been banned for supposed Xray. There is video proof of the mod, although none of him using the xray.

Timmy78 feels wronged about his permanent ban, so he heads to the forums, and types this:
"How dare you all falsely ban me for using xray, when CLEARLY the mod is disabled! You have no proof of me using Xray therefore this is abuse of power."

Now a mod is likely to respond like this: "actually there is proof [screenshot here] You are clearly using a hacked client, which is against the rules, therefore the ban is legitimate."

Timmy78, the hothead he is, responds with more flaming, that leads to the mod feeling less and less likely to unban Timmy78.

Now if you have an hacked client, and you get caught with it/using it, then a much better way to go about an appeal is to say something along the lines of:

"Ok i totally understand that i have an Xray mod, and that I could've been using it, but could you please unban me if I turn it off? Thanks."

Never joke with an appeal. If you're polite, and don't have multiple bans to your name, you're likely to have a lesser punishment.

2. Psy1 has griefed a abandoned house that was not actually all that abandoned. The greif total counts 250+ blocks, and a double chest worth of items stolen. He is now permanently banned.

Now is not the time to argue about whether or not you did it or not. The logs say what blocks were created and broken and they Do not lie. Instead, ask for a second chance. Explain that you thought it was abandoned, and that you did not know that that fell under greifing. Something similar to:

"Hi. Today I (Psy1) was banned because I greifed an abandoned house, and did not know that someone lived there. I honestly hadn't read the rules properly and didn't know that that was greifing. May i please get a second chance?"

Anyways, that's my 2 cents on ban appeals.

Rofl. Such a waste of time. People know how to make an app, they are just too lazy or don't care enough.

Actually miss, if not read correctly, logs CAN lie. My ban (which was a mistake, we're human.). I removed some snow atop a place to build a house, but decided against it. Anotherplayer built a house there, and that house got roasted. Logs had pointed to me, but since no proper investigation was held (seeing when last I was on compared to the damage's creation and such), I was banned on the spot. That can be a major problem if say, two people worked on a house together and a sneaky fellow aware of the system burned the house in a way the system cant pick up their "fingerprints", and place the blame on the friend.
Proper investigation needs to be encouraged before the ban hammer is called upon, but that's my opinion.

to whoever the hell banned me: you should have gotten more proof that i use xray, before you jump to conclusions. i have never used any kind of illegal mods or hacks before. the only mods i have are my minimap, some GUI, and an inventory sorter. the only things those do is show me the world around me, sort my inventory and show me my exact coords, FPS, and chunk uptade count.

@madzahttr

As far as you know. Think about all the people you may have banned from your own server by believing that coreprotect is the end-all for server protection, when in reality it was exactly like Echos' ban.
