this has been bugging me for a long time now. People who comment "abstain" on posts are the most annoying people on this forums. If your not gonna vote on a post - dont fucking vote man. Not voting saves more time and brain power than commenting "abstain, i'm not voting" - HotPikachuSex - |

Well abstaining is a vote technically, it shows that the player isn't sure on the person and they need to see more of the them in order to cast a -1 or +1 :')Oh BTW I'm gonna Abstain this post ;)) |

Not all opinions have to be either for or against something. Some people might want to present both positives and negatives, or just not overtly take either side. Abstaining still validly contributes to the discussion and encourages others to present their opinions. |

Just because abstain has a meaning doesnt mean it should be used in the way people use it here. If you say abstain on something it contributes nothing to the final decision. |

It could contribute something to the final decision by improving the discussion, adding new points, even bumping the topic so other people can see it and comment, etc. |

Someone being "abstain" lets you know there is still time to persuade them to either vote, you cant either show them how much of an asshole you are an turn their vote to a -1 or show them youre mature and get a +1, saying that they're abstain just shows that they havent made up their mind yet. |
