There's nothing wrong with +1 posts, in fact it's good to see people supporting each other's moderator applications. Why should only staff members be allowed to give their opinions on moderator applications? After all, staff are there to serve the people by enforcing rules and punishing those who ruin the experience of others. It seems only right that regular players on the server have a say in who will become staff to keep the server safe for them. If someone likes another person's mod application or think they would be a good mod, there's no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to express that opinion regardless of whether they give a reason or not. This is why moderator applications are in a forum, so everyone can give their opinion.
In more sophisticated forum software there is usually a 'like' or upvote/downvote button on each post so that users can support what someone else has written. This forum doesn't include such functionality, so it's good to see that an alternate system has emerged.
Besides, +1 posts are a short and simple way users can express their opinion, increase the reply count and help keep this forum active. :) |
