Recently I've come across a lot of old topics on the forums which have posts made by uiouio that have all the content deleted and replaced with "EDIT".

This is really frustrating because it invalidates comments and replies in the discussion and creates spam. It's fine to edit posts to make corrections or update them with more information, but removing all the existing content creates spam and makes the forum look bad by having holes in discussions. It's also destroying the historical record of events and opinions.
Luckily, I was able to find the original content of those posts in the forum archive and have since restored some of them, but I'm just making this topic to let people know the edit function should not be used in that way. |

If I'm correct, you aren't able to edit forum posts anymore. Maybe that's just me for some reason, but I'm not sure if this is even possible. |

Forgive me for asking, but wouldn't it be more efficient to just send uiouio111 a forum PM explaining why you think this needs to stop instead of making a public complaint about it? |

You can vultur. You need to log in with the correct caps, or you will log in but not be able to do anything to past posts. I still don't understand why people don't log in with the correct username caps anyway, it's common sense to do it for any website you log in to. |

He didn't pm him because he clearly stated that he didn't want people to use the edit button in this way. He's just letting people know. |

Beetle, I'm complaining about conduct on the forums, not the server. |
