Why do we even have this? This isn't real life. One day I had like 2k and then when I got back on the next day I had no fucking money. I think this should be removed. Yes, the taxes don't do anything good for us players. At this point it's just a command for BlueRoon to use whenever he feels like pissing everyone off. |

Try do /withdraw and you get a note for however much you withdrew. they are impervious to taxes and can be cashed in by right clicking them. sadly I don't have enough money to be eligible for taxes -_- |

@dublindevil Banknotes are not impervious to taxes, there is a banknote tax which takes a proportion of the amount you withdraw or deposit. This is actually higher than the standard tax rate so by doing that you will actually loose more money.Besides, any form of tax evasion is punishable by heavy fines and can land you in jail. |

We have taxes on the server to even out the distribution of wealth in the economy by redistributing money from the rich to the poor in the form of a progressive tax system. I've already explained some of the numerous sensible reasons for having taxes in a previous topic: http://webbcraft.co.uk/forum/read_topic.php?id=1900.I remember writing an economics essay on the importance of fiscal policy and the role of government in the economy. Market failure will occur if the free market is left without intervention; that's why in modern society we have a mixed market economy which includes a combination of government intervention and market forces to determine economic outcomes. |

Taxes = Poor to poorer and rich to slightly less rich. I think we should wait for taxes for when we get a job etc. For now, just enjoy the easy life and go along with the ride |

Are you kidding me? Redistribution of wealth from the rich to the poor is the economic model of Communism. In a Capitalist economy the fair market will balance itself out. Meaning over time supply and demand will cause the market to find a cost/spenditure medium which will market sellable items at a balanced rate. Some will try to market items at an inflated rate and have a smaller sales and others will undercut fair market value and have higher sales. Those who charge more have higher inventory and thus will eventually need to lower prices to stay profitable and the latter will sell out most of their inventory quickly and have less effect on the market over time. In other words, the fair market regulates itself. As for taxing, taxes are a means of a governing entity to procure wealth. That wealth is then used to cover expenses of wages, government entitlement programs, support a military. All of these we don't have in a fictitious world. So taxing people here is not needed. Let Capitalism flourish not Communism. |
