There has been a lot of bad things coming from players killing other players in the wilderness and stealing their items in the past. It has now come up again and there are a lot of people who are angry about it.

I suggest we add a new rule (or edit an existing rule) to make killing players (or stealing items from players that have been killed) without their consent illegal. This would make people feel safe when they are playing here, which should be the main purpose of the staff team.

That is why we have /pvp false... if your pvp is on true then it's your own fault. just saying.

I understand that people can do PvP false. However, there are some players who decide to ignore chat and just do their own thing. They don't see the reminder of this and may not know it even exists. I just think the server would be a lot better without people running around killing for sport.

There are signs at spawn and everyone literally talks about pvp false all the time, it's the players fault if they don't look at the chat

Perhaps default players should automatically be false when spawning into the game? It would go a long way to relieving stress on staff and player alike....just a small simple solution...

-1, It's called survival of the fitess, if you don't survive an attack, you can blame yourself, or minecrafts mother nature, pvp in the wilderness rn is probably one of the only exciting things there is right now

New players should be able to explore the wilderness without fearing attack by other players.

I complained about /TP for a month before anybody even mentioned that there was a command that stops anybody teleporting to you. To the best of my knowledge this isn't mentioned anywhere in the rules. It might be in /help. The plain fact is I didn't even realise that such a command existed, so it was useless looking for it or asking about it. And even if you do ask, you can't rely on chat to give info like that.

Some new players may be in the same position with /pvp as I was with /TP. It may not even occur to them that there's a way to stop PVP if they don't want to be killed. If that's the case, why even ask for it?

I couldn't tell you now if the specific command /pvp false appears at spawn, and I've read the signs there numerous times. In an ideal world everyone would remember everything on every sign. Since it's not an ideal world, and new players are going to be in a hurry to meet everybody, explore, etc, I think Monkeypawned's suggestion is the best one. Let people manually turn on PVP once they've got the equipment, etc, to handle it. Until then let them explore in safety without worrying about other players killing them.

Finally, killing someone who doesn't have /pvp enabled - by lava, etc - should be a bannable offence (and might actually be - I'm not sure about this one or if anybody has already been banned for it - a mod / admin would be able to answer that one.)
