Today is the first day of 2018 and a few hours ago we just had the firework celebrations for new years eve. Has't the year gone by very quickly? Happy New Year everyone! Merry Christmas also for last week since I again forgot to make a news article for that.
We recently surpassed 20,000 votes on minecraft-server-list.com only a few days ago, with EidahnDaGreat being the 20,000th voter. A lot of new players joined the server in 2017 and I last week I updated the server first join date statistics to reflect data from 2017, which can be viewed at webbcraft.co.uk/stats/server_joindate.php. A few months ago the server got a new map and it's been great so far as the spawn town has developed nicely. There are still plenty of wilderness areas available for you to explore and build in, however a woodland mansion has yet to be discovered within the world border which is currently at 10k. I said that at the start of this map I would increase the world border by about 1k each week until it reached 10k. I will have a talk to Loki570023 about seeing if, as long as the disc space permits, it might be safe to continue with this again in order to allow people to find woodland mansions. Another development you can look forward to in the new year is hopefully a new spawn, since we've had the current original spawn for quite a while now.
For this map, we introduced a cost for setting warps so that there would no longer be thousands of useless warps cluttering up the warp list. This is £100 ingame currency, let me know in the comments if you think this amount is adequate, since there are still hundreds of warps. It's definitely far less than the previous amount though. Write a comment if you have any other economy or general suggestions or want to propose a new year's resolution for the server!
