We have a new map on the server for a few weeks now. I don't know why I forgot to post this earlier! On the 21st of June 2016, the 6th map this server has had so far was generated.
Most important builds from the old map have been transferred over to the new map, including the shop area. I am planning to remove the sell signs from the traditional server shop and instead turn the area into a marketplace for player shops will will be much fairer, realistic and overall better for the economy. To keep the shops in the area active for players to use, I am thinking of having a system where plots are leased (initially for free) instead of permanently sold. The only requirement will be that shops are actively maintained and restocked. This should hopefully prevent the shop area from becoming a ghost town like it was in the previous map. The server shop is currently closed, so if you want to buy or sell items feel free to open up your own shop in the spawn town, use existing player shops or trade with other players. Information on how to create a chestshop is available ingame at spawn or in my old news article on last year's new map.
Secondly, most of you probably already know this: the new map has a world border set at +/- 10000 blocks from the origin (0,0) in the x and z directions. Despite this, the map still seems to have become huge in size and is continuing to grow. It's already 3.6GB for less than 4 weeks. Perhaps over time the growth in map size will slow down and then I will think about expanding the world border. However, for the time being please refrain from building too close to the world border. Instead, there are many plots still available in the spawn town which are perfect to build a house or shop in. If you see an empty plot that is claimed, ask a staff member to unclaim it for you. Only claim land in the spawn town if you are building there or going to build there in the next day or two.
If you would like any buildings from the old map transferred to the new map, please refer to my old news article on last year's new map (http://webbcraft.co.uk/news.php?id=22). Be sure to include the coordinates of where in the new map you would like it to be transferred.
